Monarch Butterfly Caterpillar

Posted by
Bud or Dell (North Bethesda, United States) on 12 September 2019 in Animal & Insect.

I checked the milkweed that we had planted for the Monarch butterflies and found this Monarch butterfly caterpillar munching away. It looks to be a 4th instar which means it will be forming a chrysalis soon (see yesterday's post). This is so exciting for us as it has taken many years to finally attract some Monarch butterflies to our milkweed patch. Enjoy!

My wife Dell has joined me on this photoblog and will be posting some of her images.
